About Smoky Mountain Adventures

The Spirit of Family and Competition!

Smoky Mountain Adventures tells a tale of how pride, deeply rooted in these mountains, divided two great families from the Mountain and Holler. Gathered for the annual family contests to show which family proved the best of the best of these mountain competitions, it was young love, devotion and determined spirit that helped finally bridge the gap. Adventures and a spectacular old-fashioned Hootenanny feast await as the mountains are filled with high-flying action, music and more!

This riveting, high energy production is a non-stop and exciting journey taking us back in time to the 1930’s when there was conflict between the Mountain and Holler families. The Great Smoky Mountain Family Contests nearly kept these two families apart forever. Will love prevail in these Smoky Mountains or will these two families remain separated by pride and the family rivalry?

This was such a great experience...from the food to the show! Absolutely very enjoyable. I hardly ever give 5 stars. Awesome experience from the initial phone call to order tickets....all the way to the end! My children loved it as well. We paid a little more for preferred seating, and it was worth it. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. read more

We walked in, and we were immediately greeted with a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. There is plenty of time to browse the gift shop or satisfy yourself with a fruity drink before you are ushered into the theater. Once we were seated, we were shown a video of why Dolly started the My People Fund. It was heartbreaking, but also filled us in on what the show was going to be about. I also got to see Dolly in person for the first time! How exciting! She is so down to earth and has such a kind heart. Then the show began. This is the story of how Dolly's parents met, and it is underlined with a theme of how different people can come together during hardships. During the show we were served sweet tea in mason jars, soup, biscuits, fried chicken, potatoes, pulled pork, corn on the cob, and fruit turnovers. It was all delicious, and you will certainly not leave hungry. The show was a series of jaw dropping aerobatics, contests, and humorous tricks that will leave you spellbound. The ending made it clear that the fires that happened not so long ago will not tear us apart, it will only make us stronger. That brought tears to my eyes. Absolutely wonderful and eye opening. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.read more
